The ILD4001 is a hysteretic buck LED controller IC for driving high power LEDs in indoor and outdoor lightingapplications.
The LED controller is capable of driving an external MOSFET power transistor with the internal push-pull outputstage to achieve LED currents of 350 mA up to 3 A and more depending on the dimensioning of the MOSFET, thethermal budget of the circuit board and the current sense resistor.
The ILD4001 is widely suitable for LED applications with supply voltages up to 42 V. A multifunctional enable pinallows dimming of the LEDs with DC voltage or a PWM signal. Furthermore the enable pin can be used to switchthe LED controller on and off to minimize power consumption in standby.
The ILD4001 incorporates an integrated thermal shutdown function pulling low the Vdrive output signal once thejunction temperature exceeds the threshold temperature. Once the junction temperature drops below thethreshold temperature the Vdrive output is activated again.
To provide maximum design flexibility, the ILD4001 is housed in a small SC-74 package.

This document contains the information about the demo board with the device ILD4001 LED driver which is suitable for the use in an MR16 lamp.
ILD4001 is a hysteretic buck LED controller IC for industrial applications.
The demo board has two input connections to be powered up by 12 VAC from electronic transformer, and two output connections to the LED. The boards are preset to deliver 7 W or 10 W powers into the LED load.
These MR16 boards are suitable and tested to drive 2 LEDs in series and 4 LEDs (2 LEDs in series and 2 in parallel). For 4 LEDs design, it is recommended to use the LED with the same forward voltage to ensure the current matching for the LEDs in parallel.
